For those new Christ followers or even those who might be struggling to interpret scripture, the Prayer Room has a new tool! Thanks to a generous donation, we have a case of New Believer's Bibles available to gift. A great resource, this Bible is translated into the New Living Translation. It's easy to read and offers insets that help provide context around important spiritual formation themes. This includes insights into scripture and references to other places in the Bible that contain similar themes. Included in the index are faith fundamentals. These are great for folks new to the faith. I've enjoyed a refresher and reminder myself. Feel free to borrow one if you'd like so you're familiar! This is a great tool we can use to both challenge and encourage.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’ Jesus tells his disciples that Holy Spirit "tells us what he has heard." Have you thought about that? Isn't it an amazing truth that Holy Spirit, with whom we interact daily, actually speaks what he receives from Jesus?
Until recently this was something I entirely missed. He "guides [me] into all truth," and, "he will tell [me] about the future." These are really significant promises, particularly as I approach others in a posture of leadership and intercession. I need guidance into truth. I need insight towards the future to be effective. Have you considered these promises & truths? How does it impact you considering Holy Spirit actually speaks "whatever he receives from [Jesus]?" |
