​A New Sunday Service Gathering at 2Rivers

We’re making more room for people to encounter Jesus!

As our main services continue to grow, we’re launching a new Sunday gathering just up the street--The Venue at 96 (96 Hubble Drive). This service offers the same authentic, Jesus-centered experience you expect at 2Rivers, in a more intimate environment. 

This new gathering will begin Sunday, September 14th at 10:30 AM. What to expect:
  • Live worship
  • A live host
  • The same message, shared via video from our main service at 88 Hubble.
  • A relaxed, welcoming space to connect with others

❗Please note: Kids ministry and childcare are not available during this 10:30am Venue service. If you’re visiting with kids, check out our main location services → where full kids programming is offered.

We know change invites questions—and often concerns. That’s why we want to address some of the most common and important questions we’ve heard about the launch of the Venue at 96 and the shift in how we engage students on Sundays. Where do I park for the Venue?
The Venue has two primary places we're asking you to park. First, we have limited parking at the Venue at 96 Hubble Drive. Second, you can park in the front lot at John Weldon Elementary School and our Shuttle Buses will shuttle you to the Venue service! Why are we launching a second service at 96 Hubble?
As our church continues to grow, especially during peak service times, we are reaching capacity. While we plan to build in the future, we believe now is the time to take a faithful step to make more room for people to encounter Jesus. Launching the Venue at 96 allows us to do just that. It’s not about filling seats. It’s about creating space for real people with real stories to meet Jesus.
Why is the Venue using video teaching instead of a live communicator?
We believe the message of the gospel isn’t any less powerful when it’s delivered on a screen. Our lead teaching team works diligently to craft each message with clarity, care, and the Spirit’s leading. Video allows us to maintain the same teaching quality across venues while freeing up resources to focus on hospitality, worship, and discipleship in the space. And yes—while it may feel different, it’s still church. Real people worshipping Jesus together in real time.
Why are we discontinuing Sunday morning youth services? Is that a step backward?
We hear this concern—and we understand it. Our Sunday youth service has played an important role in the lives of so many students, and we’re deeply grateful for that. But this isn’t about devaluing students. It’s about giving them something more: full integration into the life of the church.

Research continues to show that students who engage with the broader church—who see themselves as part of the whole body—are far more likely to stay connected to their faith after high school. We want our students to grow up not just loving youth group, but loving the church. We’re not closing a door—we’re opening a new one.

What if students are bored or disengaged in the main service?
That’s a fair question. But we’re not just sending students into the room and hoping for the best. We’re actively working on ways to help students engage on Sundays—through serving, leadership development, discussion prompts, and more. And while the transition may be bumpy for some, we believe it’s worth it to develop habits of worship and connection that last a lifetime.
Are students still going to have a space to grow in faith and community?
Yes. Wednesday nights will continue to be a high-energy, student-focused gathering. In fact, we’re doubling down on our commitment to youth by building out more intentional mentorship, leadership opportunities, and service involvement. Students won’t just be included—they’ll be essential.
How did the leadership arrive at this decision pertaining to changes to the youth programming?
This decision was prayerfully made over time, with input from staff and elders across ministries—many of whom are parents of teenagers themselves. It wasn’t made lightly, and it wasn’t made quickly. It comes from a shared conviction that this is the right step for the season we’re in and the future we’re building toward. Our aim has always been the same: to build a church where students aren’t just attending youth group, but developing a lifelong love for Jesus and His church.
What if my student really struggles with this change?
We want to walk with you. Change is hard—and we’re not pretending it’s easy. But we are here for honest conversations, real support, and creative ideas for helping students find their place. Pastor Brandon and our youth team are always open to questions or dialogue at [email protected].
